A graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science Degree in design, Ed Griffith has been working as an agency art director, graphic designer, illustrator, and painter since 1956, the last six of these years devoted to marine painting. During his forty-two year art career, Ed's talents have given him the opportunity to work throughout the United States as well as in over twenty foreign countries.
Griffith is an artist who combines the natural and man-made scenery of the Coastal Carolinas in a realistic style of painting, capturing the merging impressions of past and present that are so unique to this part of the country.
Griffith is an Artist Member of the American Society of Marine Artists and his works can be seen in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Europe, South America and the Far East. His paintings have been juried into the 1997 American Society of Marine Artists 11th National Show, the 1997 Robert Ruark Invitational, and the 1997 Southeast North Carolina Invitational.
Among the most recent award received is the Mystic Seaport Museum Purchase Award at the 1998 International Marine Art Exhibition in Mystic Seaport, CT. Mr. Griffith's painting, "Inner Harbor", was added to the Museum's permanent collection.
