    Egil Veidemanis, a renowned painter from Russia, was the laureate of the Moscow City Hall Prize in 2003 for his portfolio dedicated to Moscow. He was also a prize-winner of the Russian Academy of Arts in the same year. Veidemanis, the son of the chief painter K.Y.Veydemanis, studied at the Moscow Art College and later graduated from the Latvian State University's architectural faculty. He traveled extensively, visiting regions such as the Far East, North, Baltics, and Middle Asia. Veidemanis created captivating indoor scenes of Russian antique manors like Kuskovo and Ostankino.
