    Elena Andreevna Kiseleva (1878-1974)

    Elena Andreevna Kiseleva was born in 1878 in Voronezh, Russia. She studied at drawing school in Voronezh during the 1890's, at the Imperial Academy of Arts from 1898-1907, and in Paris beginning in 1908.

    She is best known for her paintings of rustic scenes, particularly a picture entitled Russian Peasant Girls, which won a State prize in 1908.

    She was active in Saint Petersburg until 1918; after this time she moved to Odessa, Ukraine from 1918-1920, eventually emigrating to Serbia in 1921.

    She exhibited with the Imperial Academy of Arts and the Union of Russian Artists (1910-1916).

    She died in Belgrade in 1974.
