Elisabeth Keyser was born in 1851. As a young and loving artist, Elisabeth Keyser traveled to Paris to study painting in 1878. She stayed for more than ten years and gained recognition as an artist. In Paris, Keyser went to school for the renowned artists Leon Bonnat and Gustave-Claude-Etienne Courtois.
