    Cohen, Elizabeth Ann (nee Cavanagh), born November 5, 1924, died September 20, 2016. Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. She descended from Henry Milburn, who designed gunboats with James Eades in the 1860s. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1947, and she received a Masters of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis in 1949.

    Although she did not work in the social work field, she retained a lifelong interest in issues affecting society, and was an early environmentalist and advocate for civil rights. After her marriage to Dr. Adolph I. (Dolph) Cohen, whom she met ...
