In the past, she has exhibited her work in Madison, Wisconsin and in Stoughton, Wisconsin. During her years in Provincetown, she has studied with Carol Wescott and with Jim Peters; and she has been influenced by the work of Nancy Whorf, among others. Ellen has two children: Nicholas (30) and Katherine (27); and she lives with her partner, Margot, in both Stoughton, Wisconsin and in Provincetown.
