Elliott H Marten was a British artist born in 1866 in Calverley, Bradford, Yorkshire. He exhibited at the Yorkshire Union of Artists in 1888 and married in Bradford in 1887. Marten advertised his Academy of Painting in Chelmsford, Essex in 1890, where he was listed as Art Master and Medallist S. Kensington. He was a prolific watercolourist and his favourite locations to paint were Scotland, the Lake District, Sussex, and Dorset. He exhibited very little, with only one painting entitled 'Autumn Leaves' exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1886 and five at the Dudley Gallery.
