    Emilio Poy Dalmau was a Spanish artist who excelled in cultivating portraits and genre subjects. He received his artistic education at the Superior School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving of San Fernando in Madrid. Poy Dalmau gained recognition for his work "El capuchón negro," which earned him a pension in Rome at the age of twenty-six. Throughout his career, he participated in National Exhibitions of Fine Arts and received several awards and medals for his artwork. Poy Dalmau also served as a professor of drawing at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid. His works are now preserved in the Prado Museum.
