    Ennutsiak (1896 - 1967) (1)

    An Inuit (Eskimo) sculptor and carver, Ennutsiak (2) was born in the Nunavik region of northern, Quebec and died in Iqaluit, Nunavut, on Baffin Island. His mediums included stone, ivory, bone, wood and mixed mediums. His subjects included figures and animals; however he was especially well-known for his depictions of Inuit genre* - nomadic life, family activities, hunting, fishing, etc. His style is described as Primitive Art* or Inuit Art.
