    Eric Freifeld ARCA, CSGA, CSPWC (1919 – 1984)

    A prominent Canadian draftsman, painter and educator, Eric Freifeld was born in Saratov, U.S.S.R. He came to Edmonton, Canada with his family in 1924 and died in Toronto, where he had lived since 1946. He was a professor at the Ontario College of Art* from 1946 to 1980. His works are in several Canadian museum collections including the National Gallery of Canada.

    His primary mediums were Conte Crayon*, pencil, graphite, charcoal and watercolors. His subjects included portraits, figures, anatomy, nudes, landscapes, interiors, houses, metaphor, symbolism, social commentary and city streets – primarily Edmonton, Toronto, New York and London, England.
