Erno Erb was a self-taught painter who lived and worked primarily in Lviv, with periods spent in the spa town of Truskavets. Without formal academic training, he developed his artistic language independently, working in both oil and pastel and cultivating a style rooted in the visual rhythms and daily life of his region. His most characteristic subjects include views of his native Lviv, rural and small-town landscapes, and genre scenes depicting the everyday experiences of Ukrainian peasants and Jewish communities.
