    Ernst Honigberger (1885-1974) was a German painter of the 20th century from the Transylvanian town Kronstadt (Romanian Braov) based in Berlin. Honigberger studied at the art academies in Berlin and Munich until his studies were interrupted by World War I.

    His oeuvre mainly presents portraits, figure painting, landscapes and still lifes. Stylistically his works are characterized by expressionism, New Objectivity and by the orientation towards nature. In the 1920s and 1930s works of Honigberger were on display in national and international exhibitions and the artist was a popular painter. (msc)
