    Ernst Albrecht Friedrich Lewinger was a German painter, graphic artist, and illustrator. He received private lessons from Edmund Kesting in 1947-48 and studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden with Hans Theo Richter and Josef Hegenbarth from 1948-51.

    Lewsinger transferred to the Hochschule der Künste Berlin-Charlottenburg, where he studied with Hans Uhlmann and Alexander Camaro from 1951-53. After completing his studies, he worked as a freelance artist in Dresden from 1953-57 and then became a research assistant at the Kupferstichkabinett in Dresden from 1960-65. Lewinger returned to freelance work in 1965, and was a member of the VBK of the GDR.
