    Erwin Eichbaum (1928–2017) was a German painter and sculptor born in Düsseldorf. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1944 to 1953 under Wilhelm Schmurr, Otto Pankok, and Ferdinand Macketanz, and was a master student of Theo Champion from 1951 to 1953.

    In 1954, Eichbaum received a scholarship from the Kulturkreis im Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie, followed by the Villa Romana Prize in 1961, which included a year-long residency in Florence. In 1967, he was awarded the Premio del Fiorino by the German federal government.

    Eichbaum was a member of the Verein der Düsseldorfer Künstler, and maintained a studio at the Künstler Atelier-Haus on Sittarder Straße. He participated in group exhibitions in Germany and abro
