    Esther Peretz Arad (1921-2005)

    Born in Bulgaria, Peretz Arad came to Israel as a child. In 1937 she began her studies painting with the late Israeli painter Aharon Avni. Since 1959 she had many one-man shows in Israel. The select group exhibitions include the 1960 roving exhibition in the US under the patronage of the Foreign Ministry and the Tel-Aviv Museum; 1966, Hermitage Museum, Leningrad. She received the Israeli Dizengoff Prize in 1956.

    She worked in every possible medium applicable to the fine arts: oil, lithography, etching, chalk, watercolor, collage, and even sculpture, which she studied with the late Yitzhak Danziger. She worked in the figurative style and drew her in...
