Villon was a member of the Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts and the Société des Artistes Français in Paris. He co-founded the Société des Aquarellistes Lyonnais in 1934 with Antoine Barbier. Villon was made a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1937
