    Eugen Philipp Croissant was born in 1898 in Landau and was the son of the painter August Croissant and his talent was early discovered. He began studying architecture before he turned to art. He studied under Julius Diez and Willi Geiger and later at the academy for Fine Arts. His humoristic caricatures were published in the weekly newspapers "Fliegende Blätter", "Simplicissimus" and the Swiss "Nebelspalter". German painter, caricaturist and draftsman (1898 Landau in der Pfalz until 1976 Breitenbrunn am Chiemsee), son of the painter August Croissant, 1918-20 studied architecture at the Technical University in Munich, 1920-22 studied with Julius Diez and Willi Geiger and from 1922 at the Munich Academy with Karl Caspar, in the 1920s...
