Born in Buenos Aires, Scorzelli trained in Naples with the teachings of Michele Cammarano, Domenico Morelli and Filippo Palizzi, who would have a constant influence on him even once he left Italy. Having moved to London and Paris, his painting, while absorbing the innovations introduced by the new artistic experiences, would, in fact, still be mindful of the teachings of the Neapolitan school.
