    Eugeniusz Markowski was a painter, graphic artist, and set designer born in 1912 in Warsaw, Poland. In 1938 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of professor T. Pruszkowski. For many years Markowski worked as a journalist and diplomat, including in Canada and Italy. It was in Italy that he had the opportunity to learn about the works of both Renaissance classics and Italian futurists. There, he joined the group Libera Associazione Arti Figurative, with which he exhibited his works many times. Markowski returned to Poland in 1955. From 1969 he was a teacher at his alma mater.
