Born 1961, Fabrice Hyber at first studied mathematics. After that followed art studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts Nantes (1980-85). In 1994 came the founding of the company UR (Unlimited Responsibility) that served the purpose of the production and the selling of his own works. 1997 he was awarded with the Golden Lion in the Biennale di Venezia.

In his constantly evolving works, he creates since the 1980s complex, often mutation-like objects and hybrids appear. To his oeuvre belong also interventions and partially interactive actions in public space, such as performing works.
