Dorsch studied at the beginning of the 1890s at the academy in Dresden under Léon Pohle, after that he became a student of Gotthardt Kuehl. Around the turn-of-the-century the artist worked in Vienna for some years, where he became a member of the secession and met the Jugendstil painter Carl Moll. At the beginning of the 20th century he returned to Dresden, where he worked as a teacher at the academy and he was co-founder of the artists group 'Elbier'. Dorsch studied at the beginning of the 1890s at the academy in Dresden under Léon Pohle, after that he became a student of Gotthardt Kuehl.
