    Francis Murray Russell Flint was the son of Sir William Russell Flint. He studied at the Royal Academy Schools and also in Paris. He was an Official War Artist during the Second World War and was later Vice President of the Royal Watercolour Society.

    He exhibited works at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Marine Artist, and the Royal Watercolour Society to name but a few.

    The sea was a frequent motif in his work. He was able to capture the vibrancy of color and sparkling light of the harbour.

    Francis Murray Russell Flint wrote several books on watercolour painting. His work was reproduced in publications such as the Illustrated London News and Tatler.
