Francisco Castro Lenero
  • Biography

Francisco Castro Leñero was born in 1954 in Ciudad de Mexico. Francisco is a leading Mexican painter and sculptor, and is the brother of José, Alberto and Miguel Castro Leñero. Castro-Lenero is a complex artist, whose work has many manifestations. He conquers matter to infuse his own dialogue, which is a clear vision of the mythical and ritual burdens of Mexico. His work shows us his preference for color, strokes, geometric shapes, close to conceptual minimalism. In addition, it is defined by the path of abstractionism linked to geometrism, in which synthesis, balance and reason are debated. Throughout Francisco's career, he has taught at the San Carlos Academy, where he has led several generations of outstanding students. Source consulted: LARA ELIZONDO, Lupina. Summary.
