Artist Francisco Moreno Capdevila was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1926. Upon arriving in Mexico at the age of 13 years as a political refugee, Francisco adopted Mexican citizenship. Capdevila's work includes painting, printmaking, mural, drawing and graphic design. Francisco Capdevila was awarded 11 prizes and honorable mentions. Among which are the First Prize of Engraving National Salon of Engraving, INBA, in 1955, the First Prize Acquisition of Painting Hall of Mexican Plastic Arts, INBA, in 1962 and 1967 and the Gold Medal of the Third International Biennial of Graphic Art in Florence, Italy, in 1972.
