    Francisco Otero Besteiro (born March 3, 1933, O Corgo, Lugo, Galicia, Spain; died May 21, 1994, Madrid, Spain) was a Spanish sculptor and painter, known for his contributions to postwar Spanish art and his commitment to monumental public sculpture. He studied Fine Arts in Madrid in the late 1940s, and in 1960 received a scholarship from the Fundación Juan March, which enabled him to continue his artistic formation in Rome. He later spent time in Paris, absorbing European modernist influences before settling permanently in Madrid.
