    Francisco San José was initiated in art in his first visits to the Prado Museum, where he was especially marked by the horses of Velázquez and Rubens. In 1932 he began his training at the School of Arts and Crafts, and in 1936 he became a regular at the Museum of Artistic Reproductions in Madrid and entered the School of Fine Arts. After the civil war, which was a break in his career, he meets Benjamín Palencia and forms with him the School of Vallecas. In 1953 he obtained an honorable mention in the exhibition "Paisajes de Madrid", held in Manila, and in 1956 he settled in Venezuela, where he founded the Escuela del Bosque.
