Franz Hoffmann-Fallersleben was born in 1855 in Weimar, the son of Hoffmann von Fallersleben. He was a landscape painter and etcher in Berlin-Wilmersdorf but grew up in Corvey / Weser. He studied at the Düsseldorf Academy and with Hagen in Weimar.
