    Franz Weiss (1903-1982) was a New Orleans artist who worked in various media. He drew and painted pictures of streets in the French Quarter, also known as the Vieux Carré, and often did scenes of St. Peter Street.

    Weiss used oil paint, pen and ink and other media. While he specialized in drawing street scenes, he also painted landscapes and still lifes, mostly in oil. Many works were made into prints that were sold locally.

    Weiss was prolific, and his works are common.
