    Franz Xaver von Pausinger was born in 1839.

    Franz Xaver von Pausinger was a painter, draftsman, and illustrator, who worked in Austria and Germany. He focused on landscape and animal painting.

    After studying painting in Karlsruhe and Zurich, he worked in Vienna and Munich, among others. Von Pausinger, who had grown up on Schloss Frein in Frankenburg, spent many summer's nearby, where he pursued his passion for hunting.

    His work is characterized by the depiction of alpine deer in front of local scenery. It also depicts the course of the seasons. Deer, wood grouse cocks, and foxes were his favored motives.
