About Frederic Chevarin

  • Biography

Frederic Chevarin is a self-taught stone sculptor of French origin, based in Oxfordshire, UK, who carves marble, limestone and alabaster. The central themes to his work are movement and nature, the ability to animate stone or marble by carving a delicate sculpture that creates a paradox between the apparent lightness of the material and its weight.

Associate member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors since 2008, he has mentored with Helaine Blumenfeld FRBS and is a member of the Oxford Art Society.
