    Frederick O' Neill Gallagher was an Irish landscape painter. He spent much of his life painting in France in the district of Corbeil, a small town on the Seine, south of Paris.

    O' Neill Gallagher was fascinated by the French Post-Impressionist School of Painters, and his work is reminiscent of Monet. Gallagher used a constrained palette of muted blues, greys, pinks, and greens to convey the hazy summer morning light, in his paintings of the Seine.

    While living in France, he sent work back to England and Ireland for exhibition in London and Dublin. In 1910, he exhibited at the New English Art Club, and works are known dated 1903 to 1915. An example of his work, A View On The Seine 1915 is in The Ulster Mu...
