    Friedrich Wilhelm Fischer-Derenburg was born in 1882 and passed away in 1973. Fischer-Derenburg was a German landscape, flower, still life, and portrait painter. He studied at the academies in Dresden and Berlin and undertook study trips to England, Scotland, Belgium, southern France, and Italy.

    Fischer-Derenburg was a pupil of the Ghent art school and participated in the Leo Frobenius expedition to Africa. He was active in Berlin-Schmargendorf and later in Roßwein before moving to Johannisburg, South Africa in 1963. Friedrich is best known for his landscape paintings.
