    Fritz Erler was born in Frankenstein / Silesia in 1868. Erler studied at the Breslau Art School where he was educated by Albrecht Bräuer from 1886-90. He then had a brief stay in Berlin and Munich, mostly in Silesia (Breslau). From 1892-94 Erler was at the Académie Julian in Paris. At the end of 1892, he had his first craft designs. In 1895 he returned to Munich. Erler also undertook study trips to Rügen and the Riviera. In 1896, Erler became the co-founder of the magazine “Jugend” and in 1899 became a founding member of the artists' association “Die Scholle”. Fritz Erler was an official war painter in the First World War and a propaganda artist. Fritz Erler was active from 1918 in Utting-Holzhausen am Ammersee, and held numerous exhibiThieme-Becker, Vollmer, Dressler and Internet....
