    Fritz Köthe was a German graphic designer who received his training at the Academy for Graphics and Book Art in Leipzig and the Graphic College in Berlin. He worked in Berlin in the 1950s as a graphic designer for publishers and advertising agencies. In 1963, he created street and traffic sign images, and a year later, he made his first posters. One of his works features an eye looking through the torn billboard of an advertisement for fashion manufacturer Benetton. The eye motif was often used as the main visual element in poster collages from the 1970s onwards....
