Biography
Friedrich Wilhelm Rabending was an Austrian landscape painter (1862 Vienna to 1929 Munich). He studied at the Städel Institute in Frankfurt am Main and was a pupil of Hermann Baisch and Hans Gustav Schönleber at the Karlsruhe Academy. He received numerous honours, including the gold medal in Salzburg in 1900 and the silver medal at the world exhibition in St. Louis in 1904. He was a member of the Reichsverein, the Reichsverein of the Bavarian Artists' Association, the Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands, the Allgemeine Deutsche Kunstgenossenschaft, and the Künstlerbund Bayern. He was active in Munich.
