    Gaston Coppens was born in 1909. Gaston Coppens trained in sculpture at the Ecole Boulle. Gaston was known for drawing especially in graphite and pastel. His graphics bear the characteristics of his training: volume, architecture, landscape and harmony. He set up his studio in Boulogne-Billancourt and regularly participated in numerous exhibitions: Independent True, the Society of Mountain Painters and the National Horticultural Society of France. Several galleries devoted solo exhibitions to Coppens. Among them was the prestigious Bernheim-Jeune gallery (gallery in the time of the Impressionists, Renoir, Cezanne & Matisse), but also the Royal Gallery and the Picturesque Gallery.
