    Georg Brenninger (1909-1988) was a German sculptor and architect working in Munich. After being trained as a bricklayer, Brenninger studied architecture at the technical university under Theodor Fischer at the beginning of the 1930s, after that he continued his education at the academy of fine arts, studying sculpture under Hermann Hahn.

    After 1945, the artist himself worked as a professor of sculpture and architecture at the academies in Munich. Brenninger mainly worked with stone and bronze. Firstly, his oeuvre is characterized by a classical concept of the figure, after World War II, the artist developed abstract tendencies.
