    Georg Hermann Gelbke was a German painter who flourished in the 20th century. He visited Nidden on the Curonian Spit several times after 1930, where he created winter pictures of the Curonian landscape with his artist friend Richard Birnstengel. Gelbke is known for his landscape and nude paintings in watercolor. The text also mentions that four early, mostly signed nude studies by the artist from 1914-18, as well as another signed watercolor, "Goldfische", 1932, exist....
