    Painter Georg Hohlig was born in 1879 in Leipzig and passed away in 1960 Erla, Crandorf. Georg Hohlig received early encouragement from his father, an art teacher Gustav Hermann Höhlig. He studied from 1894 to 1897 at the Leipzig Academy, and from 1897 - 1902 studied at the Academy in Munich under Gabriel von Hackl. Georg Hohlig freelanced in Leipzig, and took a healing vacation in 1903 in Reiboldsgrün in Vogtland. In 1904 Hohlig went on a painting journey to Switzerland, and 1906 stayed in Klingenthal. In 1910 Hohlig stayed on in Sylt, and in 1912 trained in Paris. In 1913 stayed in the Ore Mountains and traveled to the Baltic Sea in 1916 - 1917 and 1918 took a healing stay in custody at Adorf in Vogtland.
