    Georg Wolters: born on 05.25.1866 in Hamburg - died on 03.11.1943. German marine painter and graphic artist (lithographer, etcher). Actually, Johann Joachim Georg Wolters. Student of Gerd Hardorff the Elder and Friedrich Schwinge in Hamburg. Training in 1890 in Paris at the Académie Rosi and 1904 at the Academy in Antwerp. During World War I drove as a lieutenant. He was a famous yacht sailor and power boater and the only marine painter with a captain's license. Twice married, six children.

    Works: landscapes and seascapes with ships, shipyards and river scenes, oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, etchings. The printing plates were destroyed in 1943 in the bombing.
