    A watercolor and oil painter from Cornwall, England, George Oyston traveled to various parts of England for his subject matter, which was landscapes, river scenes, and genre subjects.

    In the 1880s, he was living in his native town of North Shields, England, where he practiced as a professional artist and exhibited at the Berwick Club in Newcastle.

    By 1891, he was in London, and in 1897, he moved to the region of Walton on Thames and Shepperton on Thames. He painted many views around the River Thames in Surrey as well as other landscapes in that region and Hampshire.
