Twin brothers Gert and Uwe Tobias were born in 1973 in Brasov, Romania (Kronstadt). In 1985 the family moved to Germany and was initially deposited in Rüsselsheim. Gert and Uwe Tobias went to the Academy of Fine Arts in Braunschweig in 1998. Here the brothers studied until 2002. After graduation, the brothers moved into a studio and have since worked as an artistic duo.

Their works rapidly gained international recognition and they are regarded today as stars of the art world. Of fundamental importance in their work are their drawings.
