    Active from 1705 to 1736 (dated paintings) between Bergamo and Brescia, perhaps Tyrolean by birth, Cipper was one of the greatest exponents of that Lombard realism that in the first half of the eighteenth century had as representatives Giacomo Ceruti (the Pitocchetto) and Vittore Ghislandi (Fra 'Galgario). His production maintained a more popular tone, reaching high outcomes in paintings such as Concerto Rustic, Rest during the harvest, Market, and Kitchen (The Lombard painting of the '700, edited by Marco Bona Castellotti, Longanesi, Milan, 1986, nos. 209, 210, 211, 215).
