Gil Schlesinger was born in 1931 in Germany. From 1948-55 he was in Israel and in 1951 he started his artistic work. In 1955 he moved to Eisleben and worked as a scene painter. From 1960-62 he studied at the FS of Applied Arts / Theater painting in Leipzig. He worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in Leipzig from 1967. From 1968 he was a member of the VBK, and in 1980 he moved to Munich.
