    Giorgio Belloni (1861-1944) attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera where he was a pupil of Giuseppe Bertini. In 1879 he exhibited his first works. During a stay in Verona he created his first paintings en plein air. Later he settled in Milan, where gained recognition as a landscape painter.

    Belloni enjoyed great success at the Esposizione Nazionale Artistica di Venezia in 1887. From the 1880s he devoted himself mainly seascapes, which he created on the Ligurian Sea coast. In addition, he also painted portraits and still lifes.
