    Giulio Falzoni (1900-1978)

    Born in Mantova, he began his artistic career studying with fresco painter Cesare Soncini and completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where he was a protege of Tuscan watercolor painter Plinio Nomellini.

    Traveling to European art centers, he studied the techniques of the Old Masters and became especially attracted to the work of the British watercolorists. From then on, he devoted all of his attention to painting in watercolor and developing the style of fused coloring which he became well-known for.

    His work is in public and private collections including the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and the Capitolino Museum of Rome.
