    Beppe (Giuseppe) Ciardi was born in an environment where art, as well as craft, is an election and love for nature and truth. Son of Guglielmo, a famous painter, he attended the Academy of Venice studying with Ettore Tito, starting to paint at a very young age.

    In 1889 he successfully exhibited the triptych Terra in fiore in Venice, now in the Marangoni Museum in Udine. In 1900 at the Brera Exposition he obtained the Fumagalli prize, in 1901 a gold medal at the Munich International, in 1904 a silver medal in San Francisco in California.

    He is one of the few Italian painters to paint to express their own feeling, and not just to show off technical virtuosity. The Marantega festival (from the Latin mater antiqua) in Venice cor...
