About Gleb W Derujinsky

  • Biography

    Sculptor. Born in Smolensk, Russia on Aug. 13, 1888, Gleb Derujinsky studied in Petrograd and in France with Verlet. Due to the Russian revolution, he decamped to the U.S. in spring of 1919.

    Settling in New York City, he soon was busy doing portrait busts. In 1936-37 he taught at the Stickney School in Pasadena and for the WPA.(Works Progress Administration). By 1941 he was living in Hollywood, CA.

    He died in NYC in March 1975.
