    Gregor Bochmann was born in 1850. He studied at the Art Academy Düssedorfer under O. Achenbach.

    Bochmann took repeated trips to Holland to study the activities of the fishermen. Later, he taught at the Berlin Academy of Arts. His vivid paintings were already highly appreciated in the early days of his work.
