Gregor Hildebrandt was born in Bad Homburg in 1974. Hildebrandt studied from 1999 to 2002 at the University of the Arts Berlin and received a scholarship from the German Study Centre in Venice the subsequent year. In his newly adopted home of Berlin, Hildebrandt together with the concept sculptor Alicja Kwade, became one of the most successful couples of the Berlin art scene. Gregor was then represented by Galerie Wentrup and quickly became a popular shooting star.
